Many of our morning classes. We practice a mixture of fundamentals and beyond fundamentals techniques

Gi Classes

These classes require the use of the kimono. This is a more traditional style of jiu-jitsu

No Gi Classes

No Gi, No Problem. We offer 6 no gi classes per week where we can adapt our techniques without grips

Daruma Dojo adult's (men and women) no-gi class. The Class is in Daruma Dojo, Sunnyvale, taught by 3rd degree black belt Professor Alberto Juarez. Class emphasis on self defense, take down, submission, grappling

Our Adult Program

Whether you want to learn self-defense, get in shape, or compete, we have a program for you to help you improve your overall health, build stamina and strength, gain confidence in your body and its abilities, and discover friendships and support within a social group community to help you thrive.


We welcome all genders and people with special needs.

Fundamentals Program

Perfect for beginners, these classes focus on the essential techniques of jiu-jitsu. This is the blueprint towards blue belt

Beyond Fundamentals Program

These classes practice more advanced techniques. Geared towards more experienced practitioners, however, beginners are still welcome to attend

Mark Sloane

Thursday Evening No-Gi Class

Black Belt

Mark is originally from Auckland, New Zealand. He has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 15 years and is a big Marcelo Garcia Fan. His game revolves around Marcelo Garcia's playing style. Outside of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he enjoys hiking and backpacking.

Nick Gerrard

Monday & Wednesday Early Morning Class

Brown Belt

Nick received his blue belt from Garth Taylor and his purple belt from Flavio Meier. He prefers gi to no-gi, and he has a well rounded game focused on fundamentals with a splash of modern movement. Nick is a Sunnyvale native and if he is not on the mats, then there's a good chance he is rock-climbing in the mountains.

Friday Evening Class

Brown Belt

Noah started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Hawai'i, where he was able to roll with BJ Penn, Jay Penn, and Max Holloway. His specialty in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is patience and taking advantage of "bad positions". Noah has been to all 50 states (has lived in most of them) and is an avid hiker.

Guilherme Giglio

Wednesday Morning & Evening Class

Brown Belt​

Guilherme is originally from Porto Alegre, Grande de Sul, Brazil. He has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2009. His favorite submission is the omoplata. Off of the mats, you can find him on his cruising on his motorcycle or cooking and eating Southern Brazilian Cuisine. 

Coach at Daruma Dojo- Sunnyvale. Also a coach at a Muai Thai Gym

Olivia Sawi

Monday Morning Class

Brown Belt

Olivia is excited to share her love of jiujitsu wherever she goes. She has studied with Milton Bastos and Rich Jackson (with Aubrey Rawlings and Kevin Kopecky), and also trains in Pekiti Tirsia Kali and Muay Thai. Olivia also coaches jiujitsu at De La Soul Muay Thai, and is a proud member of the #aggressivecuddlingclub.
